Urban Agriculture Program  Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

80% of the world's population now lives in cities.

Cities are becoming important places for developing sustainable and locally-rooted food systems for meeting our nutritional needs. Many low-income residents of urban areas, such as West Oakland, do not even have access to sufficient fresh foods. People's Grocery is working to grow fresh food through a network of urban gardens and a suburban farm.

The Urban Agriculture Program is made up of three parts: The Grub Box, Propagation Greenhouse, and Urban Gardens. Click on the titles or pictures to find out more. Please consider visiting our WISH LIST and making a donation of requested items to the People's Grocery Urban Ag Program.
