The Grub Box is a modified CSA (community supported agriculture) program. Members sign up and pre-order boxes of fresh, organic fruits and vegetables grown at People's Grocery's farm, gardens, and other local farms. Grub Boxes are filled with 12 - 14 pounds of produce and can feed a family of 4 for a week. Members must pick up the boxes at a convenient location each week.
There are 2 levels of membership. Read each description and decide which one you qualify for (we're on the honor system folks!):
1) West Oakland Resident Box (We accept EBT!)
Available to low-income residents who live, work, or worship in West Oakland (check this West Oakland map to see if you qualify), resident grub boxes are provided at a low rate, $12/box, and are delivered to key sites in West Oakland. All EBT users automatically qualify for the resident level membership. Click here for Resident grub box information or contact Diana Abellera.
2) Sponsorship Box
Sponsors are supporting members of our Resident Grub Box program. Purchase a weekly or every other week subscription and you will not only receive high quality fruits and vegetables but also support a West Oakland family to receive their produce at a discounted rate.
