Urban Eco-Chef Bryant Terry defines Grub as food that supports community, justice, and sustainability. The Grub Box is a modified CSA (community supported agriculture), that allows residents of West Oakland to subscribe to a seasonal, culturally appropriate bag of organic fruits and vegetables from our Farm and Gardens on a weekly or bi-monthly basis at a very reasonable price.
There are 2 types of subscriptions:
1) West Oakland Resident Box (We now accept EBT!)
Available to those who live, work, or worship in West Oakland, resident grub boxes are provided at a low rate, $12/box and are delivered to key sites in West Oakland for you to pick up.
Be a supporting member of our low-income Grub Box program and sign up as a sponsor. Purchase a weekly or every other week subscription and you will not only receive high quality fruits and vegetables, but also support a West Oakland family to receive their produce at a discounted rate. Distribution sites are Tuesdays at 936 Brockhurst from 3-5:30; deFremery Park Rec Center (1651 Adeline St.) from 5:30-7:30; and 1043 54th St (off San Pablo) from 3pm on.
